singapore biennale and mon's birthday.

yesterday was my mom's birthday, we bought a mango cake to celebrate it with her.
we wanted to bake a cake for her initially, but our cake turned out as a failure, so had to get one for her at the last minute.
other then that, we went for a vegetarian meal with my mom! at green on earth!

this is 'green forest'. the taste is ultra strong. my sis ordered it but dun like it. end up my pa help her eat.. haaaa...
then we saw this poster at the carpark at beauty world. it says:"TOP UP CASHCARD HERE"
but look closely! where is the machine to top up cashcard? is it invisible? lol....
-----------------------------------------------------------

on wed, when people were celebrating hari raya. i went to do project.

i had to look for artists involved in the singapore biennale 'o8.so i went to city hall with my grp members.

i specially like this following piece of artwork, done by an artist called issac montoya. it is titles fantasma(phantoms).
from a normal view, it looks like some colourful picture like what u see here.

but when u look at the pic thru a blue screen, it looks like a man in agony.
and when u look at it thru a red screen, a pitiful kid would be looking up at u.
don't u think this work is amazing.

then, we wanted to go to another place which supposedly held the biennale as well.
ended up not seeing anything. its either we got the wrong place or something. cuz we dun see any entrance to any art gallery at all. so we walked here and there through the entire cutyhall area and even to the flyers at marina. i think my group leader got the wrong info again and we had to walk back to city hall from the singapore flyers. woah... it was a long and tiring walk, but we did take a brake at the flyers and enjoyed the gelato ice-cream at gelatissimo. nice!
after that, we went to the old parliament building which also held the singpore biennale. heng this place was open, so we went in to take a look. it was fun. some of the art piece are so scary! especially those in the dark dark rooms... i always dun dare to go in alone.(mind u! the rooms are so dark i can't see my hands when i walk in! and one of them has this wierd buzzing sound complemented with a burning fire background projected on the wall! it scared the hell out of me!) i always have to pull my grp leader, pauline, into the room with me.. haa... poor her..
this is pauline here. walking thru one of the artworks. hmmmm. this work looked very famliar. i dunno when dod i see it before. definitely not in a park.
this is another art piece that doesn't look nice from afar. the thing about it is, we get to interact with the other viewers of this art piece. we wrote messages on a piece of sticker and pasted in on the art piece. haaa.. a typical art piece that requires the viewer ti interact with the art work.

amazingly, omongst the millions of messages, i spotted my jc classmate's message! haaa. it was such a coincidence. turned out that shan shan was at the same spot as me the day before i went there. lol.
this is one of the videos projected on the wall in a totally dark room. haaa. i randomly shot my silhouette.
this was what the art piece was supposed to be.
there are some more other artpieces that are really intrigueing. too bad i am too lazy to post everything up. i really think that if u are interested, u should go down and see for urself. if u want, can ask me go with u. i dun mind going there again. its ultra nice!
